Less random.
I found managing a Wordpress blog, a Tumblr blog and a Twitter account a bit too much.
I’m going back to just be using my Wordpress blog and my Twitter account to share.

Hey hey, blackface minstrels are not funny any...
I would assume most of you now have heard about the ‘Hey hey it’s Saturday - Red Face’ skit that has created a debate about if the blackface minstrel is racist or not. I would assume most of you have read some of the articles about the incident and how Harry Connick Jr. reacted to it. Based on some of my tweets you can hopefully understand where I stand regarding this...

Norway world's best place to live?
Reuters writes:
Norway has retained its status as the world’s most desirable country to live in, according to U.N. data released on Monday, which ranks sub-Saharan African states afflicted by war and HIV/AIDS as the least attractive places.
If it’s the country to live in, why haven’t I been living there the last 4+ years?
I’m fairly confident that this is the prime...

With friends comes work?
Last time at the therapist I was told that I should focus less on looking for work online and in newspapers, and rather focus on building a (real life) social network and try to get a job that way. I was a bit lost for words when I was told that, as my therapist is well aware I’m an introvert and shows great understanding for that.

Have I become an old boring geek?
Last night I went to the monthly 2600 meeting in Brisbane. We played a few rounds on Quake Arena and later on talked about different geek and hacker topics. I had fun, but not as much fun as I expected.
I’ve always had an interesting in hacking and trying to make gadgets and such do more than it’s expected to do. Yesterday I drifted away when they were talking about wifi sniffing and...

I'm not sure if I love or hate car driving.
Today we decided to take a trip to Nimbin (NSW). It’s about 171km from Brisbane, which is a 2h drive.
I kind of find driving fun, but then again not. I’ve done some practicing back in Norway and Sweden, and I’m a big fan of car games; but I’m still fresh. I still can’t help wondering how some of these drivers actually have a license. It seems like they just got it in...

Why I criticise Telstra.
From what I know, Telstra is doing what many telcos did when Internet was scarce and new to the public, and they really don’t know what they are doing; which is about 10 years ago. In other words, I feel like I’ve traveled back in time. Traveled back to the technological dark ages. The irony is that I think broadband came to Australia the same time as in Norway, so you would think...

Cafes are there to be used.
I can’t help but laugh at the main article and the comments found on this Digg article. I fully understand you’re not making much money from someone drinking your cheapest coffee one cup an hour, but is that customer the only one to blame?

Did I get laid off because I am an introvert?
I can honestly say I hated the job and that I’ve met my emotional limit when it comes to call centres. As my therapist said, ‘a call centre is one of the worst places for an introvert’. As I didn’t like the job I couldn’t care less about explaining what really happened that day, as I actually was relieved knowing I wasn’t going back to that hell.

Are you an anti-vaccination nutjob?
Before this gets out of hand I feel I have to let people know that the recent flu vaccine is no different from the other vaccines the last one, or since we ever started making these vaccines. And these vaccines saves lives, so unless you have another solution, STFU!

I almost had it.
This morning I felt okay, but mostly because I knew I wouldn’t be on the phone as we were having a written test today. We had to go on the phone the last 45min, but for some reason it just went down hill from there.
Managed to take two calls, as I dragged out the time between to, trying not too go available. I hate being like this and I really hate my job. This is not why I came to...

Who said that?
For the last week, or maybe even two, there have been a few moaning posts on my Tumblr and Twitter account. I could pretend my accounts got hacked, but they didn’t. It was me, but really not, if you understand what I mean.

What are my options?
The last few days I’m actually contemplating going totally dark. I haven’t posted anything on my main blog in ages, my tumblr blog is getting filled with random moaning and so is my twitter account.
It feels like I’m back in the same situation I was in Sweden. Forcing myself to take a job I really don’t want just to make ends meet, but still don’t have enough money;...

I honestly don't know what to do right now.
At the moment I honestly don’t know what to do. I finally got a job, but it’s not what I hoped it to be. It sounded great, but it I’m back doing the same old thing; taking calls for a company that expect me to teach myself.
Some of my friends have called me an autodidact as I easily can teach myself things, that I have an interest for. That is if I’m given the adequate...

I need a new routine.
I’ve just been working at my new job for three weeks and I’m not looking forward starting the fourth week tomorrow. I think I’ve reached my limit when it comes to working at a call centre.
I’m hoping to get all my school papers within the end of this month, at least, so I can apply at one of the universities here. It’s the first time I’m actually looking...

To blog or to idle, that is the question.
While I’ve been running around this morning, trying to get things done so we have moderate clean apartment when 1azylizzie comes home from the RSPCA, I’ve been playing around with an article I’ve wanted to write for some time now.
What annoys me now is that I really feel I’m back at work again. Weekends are too short and I’m too tired to do anything productive. Just...

Mind numbing.
I have a real writers itch tonight, but I’m too tired to write coherently. It’s kind of annoying when that happens, but as I’m not earning any money by blogging, that’s the price I have to pay; for now.
Hopefully I will start school beginning of next year so I can get a real career going. Working at a call centre isn’t really a career. It’s just a way to make...

If you still think you know me, think again.
Introvert Zone writes:
Introverts may need plenty of alone time, but we also need love, and we love our special person fiercely. I was asked a few days ago to get into how introverts handle love and possibly rejection, so this post is a start. There are so many in-depth things about introverts and love that will also need to be talked about in the coming days and weeks, so I’ll start with some...

This is not my weekend.
Earlier this week I was moaning about not feeling to well, and generally feeling very very very odd. That kind of passed on Thursday and mostly on Friday. Today, Saturday, has been a bit odd. No, it has been very odd.
I felt okay this morning, just very dry in the mouth and a bit tired. No big deal, I thought. During the day I’ve been blowing my nose randomly, but I haven’t felt like...

Jonathan Rauch writes:
Do you know someone who needs hours alone every day? Who loves quiet conversations about feelings or ideas, and can give a dynamite presentation to a big audience, but seems awkward in groups and maladroit at small talk? Who has to be dragged to parties and then needs the rest of the day to recuperate? Who growls or scowls or grunts or winces when accosted with...

Vegan melatonin in Australia?
I haven’t been looking on all the web sites online, but the Australian websites that sell melatonin has the homoeopathic rubbish that also includes lactose. Why on earth do you add lactose to a melatonin supplement? I guess only a homoeopathic quack can answer that question.
I was going to order some online, but apparently there’s some restrictions. In other words, I can get...

Turned on the Tv to entertain me while I ate lunch… Ready steady cook was on… The idiot host was talking about Lacto-ovo vegetarians and kept going on and on about it, wondering how they could survive w/out meat, and amazed that ppl don’t have cravings for it etc etc.. He kept harping on about iron and wondering how vegetarians managed to get enough iron intake etc.. Saying stupid...

Goodbye Fedora, hello Ubuntu?
After playing around with Ubuntu, Kubuntu (I still hate KDE with a passion) and Xubuntu last night in VirtualBox I might install either Ubuntu or #! CrunchBang on my 1000H.
After Fedora isn’t working as good as it used to do, and that annoying packet incident yesterday, I feel it’s time I try something new now.

Lizzie: Hey, we should have that vegan cake we bought earlier.
Me: The cake is a lie!

#!
Yesterday I came across #! CrunchBang Linux, as I were looking for distros that uses OpenBox as a default VM.
I installed it on my Eee PC 701 without any issues at all. It worked out-of-the-box and the boot time is amazing. So far I really enjoy using #!, but there is just one small thing that annoys me a little bet (of course). It’s based on Ubuntu, a distro I’m not too fond, but...

Is this my computer?
After trying out different Linux flavours and ending up with Fedora, again, I don’t feel at home with this install. I don’t know why, as it is more or less the same setup I previously had. The only difference is that it’s probably not what I hoped for.
Fedora kind of disappointed me with its Fedora 11 release. The sound is not working as expected, which is basically it. Also...

Am I reallly too busy?
After starting my new job it seems I’m blogging and tweeting a bit less, mostly because they have a ‘no private Internet use’ policy; and no open wifi around where I am.
If I only had wifi access I could at least tweet in my breaks. At the moment I’m thinking about getting an iPhone (when I can afford that) or wait for the Nokia N900 to be released. I think The Nokia N900...

Switzerland's Data Protection Watchdog Wants... →
The Swiss office for Data Protection has asked Google to turn off Street View within the country because it doesn’t meet the conditions demanded when permission was given to go ahead with the photography.
Finally someone who stands up against Google’s slack view on privacy.

Back in bed with Fedora.
I think I’ve managed to configure my Eee PC as I like it, again, after I reinstalled Fedora and restored my backups.
All I want is an up-to-date Linux distro that is a rolling release and works out-of-the-box on my Eee PC. I could use Fedora Rawhide, but it’s too unstable.
I’ll keep on looking and testing, but so far Fedora does the job.

No Arch Linux love from me.
I started installing Arch Linux and it seemed to go very smooth. After getting halfway through the wiki article I gave in.
Arch is probably very good, when you have a lot of time on your hands and know Linux like the back of your hand.
All I want is to install the basic core system with GNOME, and then tweak the system. I do not want to tweak an then install.
I’m giving Debian a go,...

Hello world!
Tomorrow I’ll be busy installing Arch Linux, and hopefully that will go very smooth. I’m not so sure if I’ll have time for blogging at all tomorrow, but I’ll for sure tweet now and then.
Also, I hope you find my newly planned way of blogging seems interesting. I’ll write a more informative article on that later, describing my idea behind it and how I will try to use...
I might have a plan for this tumblr blog, but I don’t know what, yet.
